Subject: RE: Korean War memorial ribbon cutting July 27
Please join us Saturday July 27 at 11 AM at Veteran's Park (3602 US 301 south of MLK) for the ribbon cutting of the Korean War Memorial honoring US troops from the Tampa Bay areas who lost their lives in this conflict. This is the newest memorial to be constructed at the County's Veteran's park.
It also features the memorial to 1st Lt Baldomero Lopez, Tampa's first Medal of Honor winner who lost his life in the invasion at Inchon, Korea
I'm proud to say that many staff at the Genesis Group have once again volunteered their time and expertise in the design, coordination, and construction overseeing to get this monument done on time. It's turned out quite nicely.
July 27th is an important date because it is the 50th year since the armistice ending the fighting in Korea. Unfortunately there never was a peace treaty so we are in essence still at war.
I'll send more info as it becomes available.
Thanks
